Gaucher Family Book

Brochure Header

presented by

Edward Gaucher
&
Adrian Walker

Our long-awaited family history is finished, and by April 2002,
120 copies had been printed, bound and distributed to family members.
The amount of material collected resulted in
a 500-page soft-cover volume, 11" x 8½" x 1¼" in size.

Unveiling

The unveiling of the book, 10 June 2001
Adrian Walker, Armande Fouquette, Ed Gaucher

We made this history as complete a documentation as possible of our branch of the Gaucher family from its origins in France before 1600, to Quebec about 1760, to the prairies about 1910, and to Alberta and British Columbia in the 1930s. Included is a chapter on the branches of the family which moved to the United States.

Volume 2 !

Volume 2, the Gauchers and their families born since 1900, is being considered as a further project. We already have some individual family stories and will proceed with this project if enough families wish to contribute their own histories.

We hope that this is where we can include the story which you have written of your family, and any photos which you attach. If you have some old photographs which you think should be a part of this history, and which you would like to share with the family, let us know, and we will re-photograph them for you, and include them in Volume 2.

How to submit your story:

Brown bullet Length - anywhere from 1 to 3 pages
Brown bullet Format - hand-written or typed
Brown bullet Photos - if possible, include from 1 to 3 photos
Brown bullet Language - either English or French - we will do the translation
Brown bullet Focus - Gauchers and their immediate descendants

Where to start with your family's story:

When and where was your immediate Gaucher parent or grandparent born and raised? Who did they marry, who were their children and where did they live? What did they like most? Is there a special story or amusing incident which tells us a bit about them? We will be glad to provide sample pages as a guide.
